     The three-cable positioning system generally refers to three positioning anchors and three positioning cables. The three-cable positioning system requires three winches to retract three anchor cables, and locates the center of the cable hub with three cables to fix the orientation of the vessel.
    During the operation of the cutter suction dredger, the three-cable positioning system interacts with the transverse anchor system to complete the swing and forward movement of the vessel. Three-cable positioning is particularly suitable for operation in deep water areas, but because of its flexible nature, it is best suited for use in excavation of softer soils. The cable is too loose to move up. When the dredging vessel is advancing in construction, because the diameters of the cables on the cable strands are different, it is easy to cause the seizure to shift or advance too much as the vessel advances.
